Every now and then I get sucked into someplace on the internet that I just cannot stop visiting. Over the years I’ve gotten sucked into online games, message boards, Facebook or even…WordPress. My latest obsession, one that has been going on for the past few months, is so fascinating that I’ve decided to share it with all of you. So here you go, a live feed of the town square in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. (Although the photo of the feed looks like it was taken in the early fall, if you click the arrow, you’ll see the cold Wyoming winter. brrr!)
I find myself checking it several times a day wondering things like “Is it snowing today in Jackson Hole?” or “How many tourists are taking their photo under the arch?” or “Is anyone is acting out for the camera today?”
None of this is important in my real life of course, I live across the country in Pennsylvania and whatever is going on in Jackson Hole is of no importance to me, yet I cannot stop watching. Although most of the tourists are gone this time of year, over the past few months I’ve seen visitors to the square who are familiar with the live feed act out for the camera; they wave, they do exercises, they dance….anything you can think of, really. (Side note: A truck just went through the intersection with a bike on a bike rack. In January. In Wyoming. In the snow. What?!)
And as if the live feed itself wasn’t entertaining enough, when you visit the actual YouTube page, there is a live chat! People from around the world visit the live feed and chat, which is fascinating to watch as well. (Click here to see the live feed with the chat.)
So if you ever find yourself walking through the Jackson Hole, Wyoming town square, give all of us voyeurs a wave!

I’ve watched a few of those live cams. They are so fun to watch the people and cars go by. I’ll have to try this one, too. I’ve watched the ones at NYC Times Square, one in I think the Ginza in Tokyo, and Abbey Road in London. 🙂

Sounds like I need to explore more of these!

Did you get a chance to see some other places? Just checked the Live Cam Abbey Road one this morning. Lots of action going on! 🙂

It is busy today! What I like about the Abbey Road cam is that it has the noise. I’m sure the locals love it! Ha! Stopping for all those tourists taking pics.

Love this post! I must admit I am a travel dreamer as well! We went by Jackson Hole about 8 years ago in February on our way to West Yellowstone, now I’m wishing we had gone over! xoxo

I was there once, many years ago on my way to Yellowstone as well. The arches, made of Elk antlers are so impressive. And right now, if you check the video at night, they are decorated with Christmas lights and are gorgeous!

What a fun obsession. I’ve never been to Jackson Hole, but man-oh-man it looks pretty. I used to watch a live feed for Naples FL because I had family and friends down there. I’d hope to see them on the street, but I never did. Nothing better than being nosy from afar.

I’ve read before how popular that link is – watching the people at Jackson Hole. I’d love to visit there — um, but maybe in the summer? 🙂

It seems to snow there daily lately. Looks pretty, but not much fun for driving.
